I have been in digital for 18 years, I started at very dawn of the Web and have worked in a myriad of different positions within digital since 1996.  I have been an Internet technical consultant, working for BT openworld, Retail & Logistics. I was given the responsibility of working with the retail giants of Next and River Island in the very early days of the web, when retailers were taking their first baby steps to owning an online presence.  It would be a a year or two later when they began looking at e-commerce as a viable option, I was instrumental in getting RiverIsland their first online commerce presence.

I also worked with German commercial airline giant, Lufthansa in designing their backend web infrastructure which supported their customer facing websites.

In parallel to this, I also a trained as a web designer and  subesquently worked as web design manager within a section of BT called BT Ignite, I was partly responsible for working on the external customer facing website and the internal intranet.

I have always had a passion for digital, learning HTML at the now defunct Siberia Cafe in Goodge Street, London, before leaving BT to set up my own design agency in North London, which ran successfully for six years servicing the needs of SME’s in London.

Missing working with blue chip companies , I went back into the world of large agencies, opting to work for a subsidiary of the WPP Group:

I employed as the Account Management lead looking after the Volvo Cars UK account , being partly responsible for the marketing lead launch of the C30 Volvo’s first entry into the hot hatch market. The campaign was a overwhelming success, including elements of above the line (ATL) and below the line (BTL) marketing, and this was all before the rise of  the now ubiquitous Social Media.

Being fascinated by Automotive, with a real appreciation for well designed cars led me to go to work for Global Beach as a Senior Account Manager responsible for Ford UK and Ford Europe . The idea was to maintain a dealership system in Ford dealers in the UK and in Europe, and meant traveling and dealing with many different nationalities, languages and personalities within Europe.

I have worked as Senior Account Manager looking after the Nissan Cars UK account and also as head of Client Services in a digital agency which specialised in the property sector, producing an iPhone app specially for that sector.

One of my more challenging roles was working as an Account Director for Sapient in the City of London. Sapient  is probably the worlds largest digital agency, with  an impressive roster of global clients.

My job was working for the huge global account , Unilever, with specific responsibility to migrate some of their sub brands over to a new digital platform built and maintained by Sapient. It was part of a wider project to make the websites for their numerous sub brands SEO compliant, and consistant in terms of build, hosting architecture and analytics.  It was great to be part of such an important project for such a global company.

Since then I have made the decision to again work for myself, I have set myself up as consultant in the digital sector as my vast experience allows me to be conversant on a wide range of  topics around digital. I have also set up a social media platform of my own called Livesuntold.tv which allows ordinary people tell their extraordinary stories that will never make mainstream TV, but will be of massive education value to others who can identify with the stories told.

I am always interest in new projects, so please do not hesitate to contact me if you have a project you are trying to get started. If I am unable to start it now, then we can schedule it for a slightly later date, or I can have my trusted team start work on it until such time as I am available to provide some oversight.
